I am still in a difficult situation, but I am also starting to improve myself to become better. I have started to quit smoking and this is the 10th day since I stopped smoking, even though I have been smoking for more than 12 years. These are truly difficult days for me; while suffering from a breakup, I am also struggling with nicotine addiction that keeps tempting me to smoke again. This is indeed difficult, but I am letting my ex go and find her own happiness. It is better than being in a relationship without love or losing interest. I believe that if she's truly meant to be with me, she will come back. In the meantime, I will strive to become a better version of myself.

This i know makes sense but boy it’s hard to avoid the urge to make simple message to her .. I keep asking I wonder if she has similar urge or not ? Could it be both of us are doing this non contact thing waiting for the other to reach out . Just to give you some context we been together 7 years and last week after a months un tolerable agreed month out we spoken and she said she believes this has come to an end and she could see how totally shocked I was as we spoke on video call. It took the wind out of me - I suggested joint coaching as a option to allow both of us to get our feelings be expressed on why we have his a turbulent period and causing us both anxiety

It they are addicts, they may not necessarily be a narcissist. It’s the demons attached to them through the substances. If they someday do the work and become sober, those selfish tendencies will go away. It’s an ongoing healing process that they must be ready for and truly desire for themselves and God.

Facts! Believe it! We work on their mind as a ghost that haunts them. It doesn't mean they will physically come back but we will always be in their thoughts at some point.

I followed no contact after our relationship of 5 years ended. 4 weeks later she rang 3 times which I didn't respond to. I text her a couple of days later and we ended up having a conversation. She said she missed me and wanted to keep in touch. I refused. She said to me I wouldn't find anyone who does things the way she does etc. She also cried and said she was scared. It was odd because she seemed to be talking as though it was my decision to leave. Maybe this was because I followed the no contact. She is currently in what I would undoubtedly say is a rebound relationship. I have sort of followed the no contact rule again, but this feels like I'm giving her time to grow with this other guy. Couple of days ago i text her asking if she was around as I needed to call her. She responded the next day with 2 texts which I hadn't seen along with a missed call. I was going to leave it at that and again follow no contact but I accidentally rang her on what's app, and it was an accident. So as things currently stand she has a missed call. My question is should I continue no contact or drop her a message just saying I'm thinking about her and hope she's OK and say no more. Or should I step away completely and allow the rebound relationship some space.

She can remember all she wants, makes no difference to me. I finished the relationship three days after the moment she shut down emotionally to me the first time. Zero tolerance for that sort of self absorbed nonsense so I nipped it in the bud, I hit first and hit hardest. These people never get dumped, she'll be suffering. I'll not take her back, we know how these things end up. Avoid the avoidants at all costs
